UK born NigerianTottenham Hotspur male Under-16 team captain, Timi Adekunl, has registered his readiness to dorn Nigeria colours, even as he congratulates the Nigerian Under-20 team at the ongoing 2023 FIFA Under-20 World Cup tournament on their success in the Round of 16.
Adekunle expressed his delight at seeing Nigeria progress to the Quarter Final stage with a 2 – 0 win at the expense of the host country, Argentina.
Timi who hopes to contribute his quota to doing Nigeria proud sometime soon, in the country’s national colours, wished the Under-20 team more resounding successes as they progressed in the world cup tournament.
Born in 2007 in Newham, London; the 5 feet 11 centre back player is a bankable defender and playmaker in his own class, even as he is deft at overlapping and scoring from his playing position; a feat he demonstrated in his days in the Under-15 team with 3 goals to his name, while he has four goals yet and counting in the Under-16. Currently under the tutelage of the former Barcelona and Manchester City player, Yaya Toure; Timi is blessed with adequate potentials, commitment, sense of purpose and quality of character to ultimately rank among the greatest footballers in history.
It is envisaged that Timi may emerge on the big stage sooner than later, as he is most likely to go on 2023 summer tour with the senior team.
