The Office of Transformation, Creativity, and Innovation has once again honoured outstanding Ministries Departments, Agencies and officials of Government at the 2024 Ideas Day.
With the theme “Imagine, Create, Inspire: A New Era of Public Service”
the event, which was held on Wednesday at the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium in Alausa was graced by prominent figures, including the Head of Lagos State Civil Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, alongside Heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as enthusiastic staff members.
The General Manager of the Lagos State Planning and Environmental Monitoring Authority (LASPEMA), TPL. Daisi Oso was recognized as a leading Transformative Leader for the Sustainable Transformative Public Private Partnership ideas employed to solve the challenges of re-ordering the various Informal Urban and Incidental Open Spaces across the State.
In his remarks at the event, the Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro commended the Director-General of the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation, Mrs. Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa and her Team, just as he applauded the awardees for their innovative ideas.
While charging civil servants to dare to disrupt the norms intelligently, the Head of Service said, “It is a new era; I encourage you to be bold to experiment; you are the State ‘s greatest asset, and we can be ingenious to create a more responsive system using technology to meet the State ‘s needs”.
The Director-General of the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation (OTCI), Mrs. Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa noted that the event is the third edition of the awards ceremony, adding that the selection is an evidence-based evaluation of recommendations to honour incredible ideas and outstanding individuals that shape the Public Service. The event is designed to celebrate creativity and innovation in the public sector towards a forward-thinking approach to governance and service delivery.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the Empowerment & Growth Initiative Award to the Honorable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Bolaji Dada Cecilia, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to social empowerment. Additionally, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Oluyemi Kalesanwo, received an award for impactful work in social empowerment advocacy.
The day served as a platform to inspire collaboration and innovation across the public service landscape.
