The General Manager of The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) ,Mr Bolaji Oreagba has expressed the outfit’s displeasure, over the indiscriminate use of LASTMA uniform and other kits by movie and skit makers.

Oreagba said the constant abuse of the kits by the entertainers portray Lastma institution in their movies and skits in bad light, even as he declared illegal, the use of Lastma uniform without recourse to the Section 79 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015 which criminalize such unauthorized use.

According to a press statement issued by Adebayo Taofiq being
Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, the enraged traffic control agency boss issued out the warning on Friday, after seeing a fully kitted actress with Lastma uniform in a yoruba film titled ‘Gbogbo Lowo’ as well as in other skits and movies on different social media.

According to Oreagba “film or skit makers who portray as Lasma Officer without applying for, and being duly issued a permit letter for such portrayals, should desist with immediate effect or face the full wrath of the Law.

He believes that such sanity in movies production, regulation of possession and usage of Lastma uniform will surely curb proliferation of Lastma kits, uniforms and accoutrements in our society.

“We implore National Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) and other affiliate bodies to warn their members as anyone caught using Lastma Uniform without an approved permit would be prosecuted”
