Jubilant Fans Mob Salah At Airport Following Trabzonspor Move
Turkish club Trabzonspor are set to confirm the signing of Mohamed Salah as the Egypt captain was mobbed by fans on his arrival in Turkey.
Hundreds of fans gathered outside Ataturk Airport in Istanbul on Wednesday as Salah emerged wearing Trabzonspor colours before engaging with the excited crowd.
The 34-year-old forward left Liverpool at the end of last season after nine years on Merseyside, scoring 257 goals.
A free agent, Salah, who has scored 50 Champions League goals, will play European football with Trabzonspor next season after they finished third, eight points behind champions Galatasaray.
If they fail to progress to the league phase of the Europa League via the play-offs, they will drop down to the Conference League.
Salah became Liverpool’s highest earner in their history when he signed a reported £400,000-a-week contract in April 2025.
Nicknamed the Black Sea Storm, Trabzonspor have won seven league titles, six of which came between 1976 and 1984.
In 2022, they claimed their most recent league success, ending a 38-year wait.
Based in the north-eastern city of Trabzon, they are one of only six teams to have won the Turkish Super Lig.
Salah’s signing will go down as the club’s biggest as he joins former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge and former Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe in donning the claret and sky blue shirt.

Super Eagles’s Ejuke To Leave Sevilla As Anderlecht Submits Bid
Belgian giants Anderlecht have reportedly made a €3.5 million offer for Sevilla’s Nigerian international winger, Chidera Ejuke, as speculation over his future intensifies.
The 28-year-old’s time with the La Liga side has been inconsistent, but his potential departure is driven more by the club’s economic needs than his on-field performance.
Ejuke’s position at Sevilla has been uncertain for some time. Despite having a year remaining on his contract, the Spanish club is widely expected to offload him this summer.
The primary motivation for the sale is financial, as Sevilla needs to raise funds by selling first-team players to comply with La Liga’s financial regulations.
According to reports from Spanish outlet Vamos Sevilla, Belgium now appears to be his most likely destination following Anderlecht’s formal bid.
Speculation surrounding Chidera Ejuke’s future is growing following reports that Belgian giants Anderlecht have submitted a €3.5 million bid for the Sevilla and Nigerian international winger.
The Brussels-based club is looking to bolster their squad with proven talent to reclaim its status at the top of the Jupiler Pro League and challenge recent powerhouses like Union SG and Club Brugge.
Ejuke is no stranger to Belgian football, having spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Royal Antwerp. If a move materialises, he will be hoping to revive his career.

Real Madrid Offer Vinícius Júnior €22M New Deal
Real Madrid have made an improved contract offer to Vinícius Júnior since the World Cup, sources have told ESPN, resuming talks which had been stalled for almost a year.
There has been growing speculation over the Brazil international’s future in recent weeks, with his current Madrid deal due to expire in June 2027 and interest from Premier League champions Arsenal.
Madrid have now offered Vinícius a contract worth around €22 million ($25m) a year, sources said, which is an increase on what the club had been willing to offer in negotiations over the last two seasons. Sources didn’t reveal the duration of the proposed extension.
However, the gap between Madrid’s latest offer and Vinícius Júnior’s demands — around €30 million — remains significant. It is also unclear how long the contract offer was for.
Vinicius currently earns around €17.5 million annually as he enters the final year of his deal.
If he does not renew, the winger could depart the Bernabéu on a free transfer at the end of this coming season, and would be able to sign a pre-contract with another club from January.
It was speculated last week that Madrid would be open to the possibility of a departure for Vinicius this summer, if there is no agreement reached on a contract extension.
Vinicius returned to training on Monday after his post-World Cup holiday, undergoing medical tests and training with teammates and new coach José Mourinho.

Vinicius Jr’s Agent Denies Player’s Arsenal Move Report
The agency representing Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has issued a strong denial of what it calls “fake and damaging” reports linking the Brazilian forward with a move to Arsenal.
Vinicius Jr. remains a hot topic in England, having been linked with a move to Arsenal following his contract issues.
The 26-year-old is reportedly in the final year of his contract with Real Madrid, and negotiations for an extension are said to have stalled.
This has reportedly put Arsenal on high alert, with some outlets suggesting the Gunners would be willing to break their wage structure and offer significant image rights to land the world-class winger.
In a firm response to the swirling transfer rumours, Roc Nation Sports International, the agency founded by Jay-Z, voiced its frustration with recent media coverage.
Roc Nation Sports International released a statement condemning the speculation and calling for greater accountability from the media.
While the statement did not single out specific articles, it was released amid intense speculation that Vinicius could be leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.
Michael Yormark, president of Roc Nation Sports International, posted a direct message on Instagram to address the issue.
“Roc Nation Sports International and our entire team cannot stand idle when unprofessional and uninformed media publish fake and damaging information for attention-seeking purposes,” Yormark wrote.
“This is especially unacceptable when it personally targets our clients without any foundation. It is disruptive, harmful and libellous. Media outlets and journalists need to hold themselves more accountable.”
