Ronaldo Exit: Portugal Lose 500,000 Followers On Social Media In Few Hours
Cristiano Ronaldo left Portugal’s training camp on the eve of the Nations League match against Denmark, but the No 7 shirt will not lie vacant.
According to report,Rafael Leao will wear the number 7 shirt on Thursday evening for the match at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, the forward moved in the summer from AC Milan to Galatasaray.
The Nations League regulations stipulate that the players on the teamsheet must be numbered from 1 to 23. That is why Portugal could not avoid giving CR7 the No 7 shirt. Former Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo is in the squad, but Francisco Conceicao is not, sidelined by a thigh problem, although tests ruled out a lesion.
According to report, the fallout from Ronaldo’s departure has hit the Portugal national team, with the national side’s official profile said to have lost around 500,000 followers in just a few hours. Portuguese fans, however, are convinced the man chiefly responsible for the situation is Cristiano Ronaldo himself: according to a poll by ABola 8.1% blame federation president Pedro Proença, 13.7% head coach Jorge Jesus and 78.2% the Al Nassr forward.
The row is not going away any time soon: Marca reports that Ronaldo was promised and guaranteed greater respect by the federation until 2027 to convince him to return to the national team, while Portuguese media say even Portugal’s Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, has asked for a meeting with head coach Jorge Jesus to hear every detail of what happened.

At Last, Joshua, Fury Meet Ahead Of Big Fight
Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua finally came face-to-face on Wednesday night, marking the first time the two British heavyweight giants have stood nose-to-nose ahead of their long-awaited clash.
The pair squared off at a press conference in London as they began the build-up to their December 11 showdown at Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
The fight, set to stream globally on Netflix, has been years in the making and is widely regarded as the biggest all-British heavyweight contest in history.
Despite previous tensions and last-minute doubts over anti-doping testing, the event went ahead smoothly.
The face-off itself was intense but largely respectful, with both men staring each other down without major incident.
At one point, Joshua even lightened the mood by playfully interacting with Fury, drawing smiles from the Gypsy King.
Fury, true to form, promised fireworks in the ring. “I’m going to come out, and I’m going to blast him out of there,” he said.
“It will be a gunfight at the OK Corral. I’m not gonna run away. I’m not gonna box. I’m gonna throw down.”
Joshua remained composed throughout, while promoters Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn both hyped the contest as a potential war.
The bout will be contested for the WBA super heavyweight title and is expected to draw a huge crowd in Cardiff.

Guardiola Reacts To Manchester City Guilty Verdict
Former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has broken his silence following the club’s guilty verdict, releasing a resolute statement of solidarity despite his previous insistence that he would walk away if ownership had lied to him regarding financial irregularities.
Guardiola addressed the situation on September 30, releasing a 54-word statement across his official social media platforms.
The comments mark his first public remarks regarding the investigation since the Premier League officially confirmed on September 29 that an independent commission had found the club guilty of 114 financial charges.
The official league announcement followed initial reports that had first broken via The Athletic and Reuters four days earlier, on September 25.
“I want every single Man City fan to know I am here; more than ever,” Guardiola stated. “I am, always have been, always will, be behind my club, my owner, my chairman, Ferran, the players, staff, Enzo and you, our unique supporters. Let me be clear: we will get through this together. I love you all.”
The timing of Guardiola’s departure from the Etihad Stadium provides a complex backdrop to his current stance.
The manager abruptly resigned from his post in May 2026, concluding a decade-long tenure (2016–2026) that yielded six Premier League titles, alongside the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League.
He was subsequently replaced by former Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca, whom Guardiola referenced in his statement.
During the earlier stages of the Premier League’s investigation, Guardiola famously declared that he would immediately resign if he discovered the club’s hierarchy had lied to him regarding their financial operations.
Following the formal guilty verdict, rival supporters weaponised his May departure, theorising that the manager resigned precisely because he received advance knowledge of the impending legal outcome.
Despite that narrative and the proven financial breaches during his tenure, Guardiola has publicly backed the institution.
Manchester City now face the sentencing phase of the tribunal process. The independent commission wields absolute disciplinary authority to determine the club’s punishment. The sweeping regulations permit the panel to impose unparalleled sporting sanctions.
These potential consequences range from severe financial penalties and significant points deductions to the retroactive stripping of historical titles or permanent expulsion from the English top flight.
The club has formally indicated its intention to appeal the verdict, describing itself as “disappointed and surprised” by the commission’s opinion and maintaining there is “irrefutable evidence” supporting its position.
