The Senate of the Tai Solarin University of Education,Ijebu Ode Ogun State has fixed Thursday, the 15th of this month for the reopening of the institution.
The school was shut down in the wake of a cult induced violent clash between perceived student cultists and the school’s host Community. The clash left a student dead while properties were also destroyed.
According to a statement signed by the school registrar, Dapo Oke, the Senate took the decision to reopen the school as after its emergency meeting held on Tuesday, 13th June 2024.
The statement said following it’s consideration of the interim report on the ongoing investigation of the Imaweje/Student Fracas, the Senate has approved the reopening of the University for Thursday, 15th June 2023.
” It also reviewed the University calendar and approved the extension of Teaching Practice for 400-level Students by one month”.
In the same vein,Matriculation Ceremony for newly admitted Students for 2022/2023 academic session would take place on Wednesday, 21st June 2023 while the first semester examinations for 100 – 400-level Students would commence 1st week in July 2023.
E- test continues on Monday, 19th June 2023.
While welcoming Students back on Campus, the University wishes to state emphatically that its zero tolerance for cultism is still fully operational.
Students are hereby warned to stay clear of all forms of violence as any student found contravening any University rules and regulations would be summarily dealt with.
They are enjoined to maintain a cordial relationship with their host Communities.
