Christian Atsu Funeral: Tributes Pour At Atsu State Funeral. 

Hundreds of people including Ghana’s president are paying their last respects to Christian Atsu, who died in last month’s earthquake in Turkey.

Christian Atsu’s state funeral took place in his home country of Ghana and it was held outside State House in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

Some mourners fought back tears as the ex-Hatayspor winger’s widow Marie-Claire Rupio read an emotional tribute to her late husband.

“In life I love you darling, in death I’ll do the same,”

The widow who was overcome with emotion struggled to get through the rest of the reading without breaking down in tears and soon handed her eulogy speech to Atsu’s sister, to finish reading.

“You did not go alone, for part of me went with you,” it continued. “Your smile, your love I see in our children’s smiles.”

Amongst those present at the ceremony are the Representatives of Ghana’s national team and Atsu’s Turkish club Hatayspor.
