LaLiga Club To Off-Load Super Eagles Star
Getafe president Angel Torres has confirmed that the club is open to selling Nigerian midfielder Christantus Uche this summer.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder spent last season on loan at Premier League side Crystal Palace but failed to convince the Eagles to make the move permanent.
Uche featured in just 14 Premier League matches without registering a goal or assist, though he impressed in the UEFA Europa Conference League with two goals in four appearances.
Uche is set to return to Getafe at the end of June when his loan deal expires. However, Torres has made it clear that the club will not stand in his way if a suitable offer arrives.
“Uche has a contract with Palace until the 30th, so we can’t do anything
“He doesn’t mind coming back, and the coach wants him. If there’s an offer and we agree on it, we’ll sell him,” Torres told spherasports.com.
The Getafe president added that while the club is happy to keep Uche and the coach values him, they remain open to a sale if the right financial proposal comes in.
Uche’s future remains uncertain as several clubs are expected to monitor his situation once he returns to Spain.
Meanwhile, Real Betis and Everton have been credited with an interest in Uche. Especially, Everton, who are desperate to add creative talents to the side.
Uche may not have produced consistently while at Palace, but it is clear he has sufficient talent to thrive at a top club, provided the opportunities are available to him.

Woman Who Falsely Accused 10 Men Of Rape Get Additional Years in Jail
A 31-year-old woman in the United Kingdom will spend more time in prison after falsely accusing 10 men of rape, following intervention by Attorney General Ellie Reeves.
Bolton, had her sentence increased by two years and six months after Reeves referred her case to the Court of Appeal under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme.

Tanzanian President, Samia Hassan, Loses Husband
Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan has lost her husband, Hafidh Ameir Hassan, who died on Monday while receiving treatment for a heart condition at a hospital in Zanzibar.
Ameir died at 08:00 local time (06:00 GMT) at the Emilio Mzena Memorial Hospital, according to Vice-President Deogratius Ndejembi, who announced his death.
Ndejembi said funeral arrangements were already being made in Kizimkazi, a village on Tanzania’s semi-autonomous island of Zanzibar.
The vice-president also expressed condolences to President Hassan, Ameir’s family and friends following his death.
Kenyan President William Ruto joined those mourning Ameir, saying he received news of his death with “deep sorrow”.
“President Samia has lost a lifelong companion, her children a beloved father, and Tanzania a distinguished son,” he wrote on social media.
Ameir, an agricultural academic, largely stayed away from the public spotlight despite being married to Tanzania’s president. He became the country’s first First Gentleman after Hassan assumed office in 2021.
His appearances alongside President Hassan were uncommon, although he occasionally accompanied her at official engagements.
Ameir and Hassan married in 1978, before she began her political career, and had four children together — three sons and a daughter.
Their daughter, Wanu Hafidh Ameir, has also followed a political career and currently serves in Zanzibar’s House of Representatives in the National Assembly.
