NDLEA Raids Lagos LAB Discovered Illicit Drug

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have uncovered a secret laboratory producing a deadly substance, Methamphetamine, in Ikeja, Lagos.

The development was made known by the spokesperson for the anti-narcotics agency, Femi Babafemi, in a statement,
he said that the packaged sachets of the drug and various chemicals used in the production were recovered.

 

He added that the laboratory located at Mende, Maryland in Ikeja, was raided by anti-narcotics officers, following a credible intelligence and surveillance which confirmed illegal drug production in the building. After the search, one kilogramme of already produced and packaged methamphetamine were recovered from the house, while efforts are on to apprehend the fleeing owner of the house.

 

Methamphetamine is a potent central nervous system stimulant that is mainly used as a recreational drug and less commonly as a second-line treatment for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and obesity.
