Lagos plans to resolve workers housing deficit

The Lagos State Government has disclosed its plans to reduce the accommodation deficit among public servants in the state.

The Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, who paid a visit to the Lagos State Staff Quarters on WEMPCO Road in Ogba, Ikeja, at the weekend, stated that the welfare and safety of public servants in the state remained a top priority in the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration.

Agoro said the visit to the staff quarters was at the instance of the governor, who wanted to have an overview of all the structures in the state’s staff quarters.

“It (the visit) is also intended to plan for additional blocks of flats to reduce accommodation deficit among the state’s public servants.

“The government of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu remains committed to facilitating and fostering a conducive environment befitting of the public servants,” a statement quoted Agoro to have said.

Top government officials present during the visit included the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Mrs Sunkanmi Oyegbola, and her counterpart in the Office of Works, Odusanya Adebayo; Secretary, Staff Housing Board, Mr Abdulrafiu Fashola, and Director, Service Matters, Mrs Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila.
