Rivers Crisis: Ijaw Youths Camp Outside Port Harcourt LGA

The youths are expressing support for the Fubara administration.

 

Youths of Ijaw extraction on Tuesday took camped outside the entrance to the council headquarters of Port Harcourt Local Government Area in Rivers State.

Channels Television captured them seated around multiple canopies, chanting solidarity songs, dancing, and waving the Ijaw Youth Congress flags.

 

 

 

Placards at the canopies boldly display solidarity messages for Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.

 

 

There is a heavy security presence in the area as armed policemen are also on the ground monitoring the situation.

 

The council gates are however shut as today is a public holiday. But the Chairman of the Eastern Zone of the Ijaw Youth Council says he and his members are to show solidarity with the governor and that no chairman will be allowed to stay beyond their tenures.
