The members of the G-5 Integrity Group of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) including Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja.
Other members of the group who arrived the seat of government at about 4.21pm are former Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia).
Wike is visiting the State House the third time in one week while the other four G-5 members held their first meeting with President Tinubu since his inauguration on May 29.
The group is considered to have been friendly with President Tinubu, as well as contributed to his electoral victory in February.
During their meeting with President Tinubu , Governor Makinde said they highlighted the arduous nature of nation-building, emphasising the need for continuous evaluation and assessment of the country’s trajectory.
He stated, “Well, nation-building is a very difficult task. You have to keep evaluating, you know what your day is, where you’re going? So, we have to keep seeing the president, you know, to let them know what is happening.”
ThecolumnNG reports that the G-5 is made up of five PDP governors in the last administration: Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Nyesom Wike (Rivers).
